multi-instrumentalist Smith began his musical training with the saxophone as well as voice/choir lessons from early elementary school throughout high school. While studying ballet in Pittsburgh, Gabriel picked up the piano and the guitar. It wasn’t too long before Smith started writing his own music, releasing two albums on iTunes. In the following years, Smith collaborated with numerous musicians and ballet companies including Ballet Met, Washington Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Texture Contemporary Ballet, and Red House Productions. Smith’s music has also been commissioned for Youth of America Grand Prix competitions across the United States, the RDA Festival in Pittsburgh, PA, and Dennison University. Recently, Smith has composed for the Cincinnati Vocal Arts Ensemble, as well as composing and performing live alongside members of the Columbus Symphony, conducted by Luis Biava, for the “Dancing For The Cure” benefit.
